About The Position

To instruct and demonstrate proper swimming skills with an emphasis toward competitive swimming.

Requirements

• Minimum age 16
• Must exhibit a love for working with children
• Flexible, positive, and able to try new ideas
• Ability to work evenings during the school year
• Ability to work either mornings, evenings, or both during the summer season
• Maintain a professional, mature, and positive teaching style while instructing
• Experience in teaching swimming classes and individuals of various ages and ability levels
• One year of customer service preferred

• Competitive swimming experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the established learn-to-swim curriculum.
• Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for all participants.
• Evaluate all students in their assigned class.
• Update skill levels through the online registration system.
• Teach a variety of swim skill levels.
• Provide for the health and safety of participants, including ensuring that all teaching and practice areas are free of hazards and that materials and equipment are safe.
• Communicate with parents on a regular basis.
• Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
