About The Position

The Leap Program is a day program that offers services to adults with severe mental illness. Services include educational groups on a variety of topics including social/recreational activities, and social support. The LEAP program Van Driver will transport clients between designated locations throughout Cincinnati. Position Description: Drop off and pick up of up to 20 group members to and from the day program Serve as the primary contact for transportation communication Open the vehicle door for passengers to enter and exit Ensure passengers feel safe and secure Ensure timely conveyance of passengers to their destination Ensure that vehicles are kept neat and tidy at all times Carry out routine checks on vehicles Identify electrical and mechanical faults and report concerns to the supervisor Read map and check weather and traffic reports to determine the best time to travel, and the best route to take Discussing current events Assisting in the psycho social activity Assisting in planning the monthly calendar and outings Assisting with outings Planning routes Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate action
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact in a calm and compassionate manner
  • Ability to collaborate/interact with wide variety of people
  • Knowledge of code of ethics, conflict of interest and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrate professional speech and behavior
  • Detach from client issues and view objectively
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Valid Driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Good Driving Record and Valid Driver's License
  • Must be at least 25 years of age per insurance qualifications
  • Must be able to meet underwriting criteria and approved as an Agency Driver
  • Comfortable navigating through Cincinnati
