About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Lean Process Engineer to join our extrusion team in Richmond, Indiana. This role is central to reducing waste, improving process reliability, and improving overall operational performance across extrusion film lines. The ideal candidate brings strong problem-solving skills, data-driven thinking, and a collaborative spirit to help drive one of the fastest-growing areas of our business. The successful candidate will utilize a hands-on approach to implement Lean strategies and drive positive change across multiple departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years working in a manufacturing environment. Plastics experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Must be data-driven with strong analytical and computer skills
  • Must have strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exceptional attention to detail and ability to drive projects to closure
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, in large or small groups
  • Must be a champion for change for the better in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with film extrusion equipment.
  • Exposure to polymer processing, packaging, or industrial films.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification and/or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of film testing methods or bag-making operations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the facility's objectives are met in the areas of safety, quality, profitability, waste reduction, and OEE.
  • Champion Kaizen events in support of the business plan.
  • Lead training events to foster a strong Continuous Improvement culture throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate the selection, scope, and planning of improvement projects to improve business performance
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and equipment suppliers on projects and upgrades.
  • Optimize extrusion processes to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency.
  • Contribute to hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for blown film lines.
  • Document best practices and train operators to strengthen team capabilities.
