Requirements

  • Industrial or Process Engineering or technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum three-year work-related experience.
  • Ten years work related experience with a strong Process/Product knowledge in conjunction with strong communication and team leadership skills may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • In depth knowledge of the mold, paint, and assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage all levels of the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable being audited, challenged.
  • Respected by peers.
  • Ability to think “out of the box” with a high energy level and goal oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated group problem solving skills and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with leadership to identify key projects that will provide the most benefit to the customer and Norplas’ bottom line.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects from concept to completion.
  • Report progress of projects to Lean Systems Manager and ensure progress towards goal of cost savings is achieved.
  • Support innovation and cost reduction programs in place.
  • Provide training for plant personnel on lean concepts as needed, such as Intro to Lean, TWI Job Instruction, TWI Job Relations, 5S, Waste Elimination and Kaizen.
  • Assist team members in identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change.
  • Lead Kaizen teams in multiple day, rapid improvement events monthly.
  • Lead change efforts to drive continuous operational improvement into the business.
  • Develop training for individual aspects of MAFACT and deliver training to plant personnel.
  • Develop systems for meeting objectives of MAFACT.
  • Implement systems with plant personnel to comply with MAFACT.
  • Investigate, understand, and communicate best practices with other Magna divisions in effort to continuously improve.
  • Maintain Action Log for each MAFACT element, coordinating follow-up / continuous improvement activities, and participate in monthly report out meetings.
  • Communicate assessment findings to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain evidence for quarterly MAFACT assessments.
  • Participate in quarterly MAFACT assessments.
  • Primarily a first shift position but must be flexible to provide for off shifts occasionally.
  • Travel to other Magna facilities for benchmarking purposes.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
