About The Position

Directs and coordinates completion of Continuous Improvement engineering activities in both manufacturing and business processes. Responsible for leading plant-wide and department level performance improvement initiatives that positively affect safety, quality, cost, material flow and productivity. This position supports the CI Director in the development of a CI culture through leadership, expertise and collaboration. This position will work with operations to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways and lead initiatives to ensure sustainable results. Job responsibilities include time studies, workplace organization, value stream mapping, manufacturing standardized work, manufacturing cell design, quick changeover, scheduling & material system optimization, total productive maintenance, leader standard work, problem solving, daily management process support, and overall analysis for efficiency opportunities. The primary purpose of this position is to perform work which involves general engineering methods and tools; but you may also utilize more advanced technologies and engineering concepts while you are developing in your role as an engineer in the Aerospace industry. In this role, you will ensure that Servotronics internal and external customer expectations are met or exceeded with occasional direction, instruction and guidance from more experienced engineers and managers in your organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • At least three years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of relevant experience without the degree.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other associates and cross functional teams.
  • Solid technical aptitude with the ability to contribute to a team or produce results individually.
  • Competency in both written and oral communications.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor in a high energy, constantly changing production environment.
  • Possess a positive, can-do attitude with an underlying belief that failure is not an option.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Servotronics Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements.
  • Work independently with occasional guidance from supervisors or mentors to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Review procedures and plans prior to implementation as well as evaluate existing products, processes and materials for failure analysis and potential improvements.
  • Participate in projects that require investigation, development, documentation and implementation of new product and process technologies.
  • Demonstrate proactive insight into technical challenges and mitigate potential issues or incorporate improvements.
  • Plan, schedule and execute the engineering work in a part of a major project; or lead a smaller scope project.
  • Perform work on technical projects following Servotronics standard quality management and production system methodologies.
  • Apply standard data analysis practices and techniques to establish root causes for product and process failures.
  • Observe products and processes to recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations to establish root cause.
  • Collaborate with others in the exchange of information and regularly check for understanding.
  • Embed Quality within the Engineering discipline and assure adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Champion the development and deployment of systems and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Embrace the Manufacturing Excellence culture based on the Servotronics Production System.
