The Lean Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and coordination of Lean initiatives/projects to enhance the organizational effectiveness in lean manufacturing. Duties include managing A3 projects, leading Kaizen events, 6S activities, Six Sigma projects, lead Value Stream Mapping and tracking CI reductions. The Lean Coordinator is also responsible for training employees as defined in the Operational Excellence (Lean) model. Prioritizes daily activities and aligns actions to support overall function and business strategy. Models our Uponor values and behaviors and demonstrates peer leadership to engage diverse audiences through effective collaboration and influence. In conjunction with leadership, provides input on individual performance objectives that are aligned with the functional and business strategy. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships within all levels of the organization; especially drive buy-in and establish clear communications with the shop floor. This includes coaching employees on the use of Lean tools and fundamentals. Leads, facilitates, or mentors leaders of kaizen/5S events which involves planning, conducting the event, and following up on newspaper items for sustainment. Leads Lean Bronze and Silver level training as defined in the Operational Excellence (Lean) process. Leads A3’s/Lean Projects and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Lean leadership or other areas of the company. Assists Lean leadership with strategic planning and goal setting and participating in the Lean Steering committee. Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of continuous improvement/lean manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, organization, and communication
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing Lean methodologies/tools, including 6S, value stream mapping, kanban, visual controls, waste walks, kaizen events, gemba walks, and standard work
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Mastery/fluent usage of all basic Microsoft applications
