As a Leak Detection Specialist at American Leak Detection of Southwest Florida, you will be responsible for providing leak detection and line locating services to a diverse clientele, including both commercial and residential properties. This role is integral to our operations as we continue to grow as a national company that has been established since 1974. The position requires a mechanically oriented and highly motivated individual who is capable of performing electronic leak detections and plumbing-related repairs. You will work outdoors, utilizing your interest in mechanics and electronics to diagnose and resolve issues effectively. Your primary duties will involve traveling to various locations to conduct leak detection on underground piping systems, which may include areas inside and outside buildings, as well as in sewers, swimming pools, and spas. You will be trained to use various forms of electronic leak detection equipment, and advanced training will include scuba certification and mastering technologies such as underground line tracking, video, ultrasonic, and infrared detection methods. This position offers great earning potential and the opportunity to learn an innovative trade in a supportive environment. To succeed in this role, you must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good DMV report. You should be capable of lifting or moving up to 100 pounds and have a background in mechanics or electronics, which will be beneficial. Experience with power tools is essential, and the ability to work independently is a must. A neat and professional appearance, along with good writing and verbal communication skills, will help you excel in this position. Additionally, you will need to pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Familiarity with leak detection or plumbing, as well as experience in pool and slab work, is helpful but not mandatory. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are also advantageous but not required.
