The Leadman at CEMEX will play a crucial role in providing leadership and direction to hourly employees engaged in daily maintenance activities. This position is essential for ensuring a safe working environment and overseeing plant maintenance, quality control, and the maintenance performed by crews and/or contractors. The Leadman will lead work teams by setting an example, motivating, instructing, coaching, and overseeing employee work performance. Compliance with corporate policies, plant rules, environmental and safety procedures, and laws is paramount, and the Leadman will coordinate with other departments to ensure the completion of work orders, preventive maintenance, and proactive identification of equipment reliability issues. In addition to coordinating with production management regarding maintenance, the Leadman will ensure that all shop personnel adhere to CEMEX safety policies and procedures. Responsibilities include prioritizing and assigning work to mechanics, initiating breakdown investigations, and being responsible for the quality and accuracy of work performed by mechanics. The Leadman will assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of new mechanics, review job orders to determine work priorities, and schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. Developing a preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff is also a key responsibility. The Leadman will review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities. Adhering to all CEMEX and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations at all times and wearing proper safety equipment while on plant grounds is mandatory. The Leadman is expected to meet or exceed company safety standards and perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
