The Lead Laboratory Technician coordinates and directs the work of the laboratory on the off shift while also performing lab testing on in-process and finished products. Records and reports results in order to ensure highest standards of quality are met or exceeded and in compliance with federal, state, customer, and company specifications.

Requirements

• Must have prior lab experience.
• Must be able to work 6pm-6am Rotating 12-hour shift- 2-2-3 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform required chemical, physical, bacteriological and sensory evaluation tests on samples, ingredients and finished products
• Making sure all company testing polices and procedures are followed.
• Make sure that all reports are completed properly and in a timely manner.
• Maintain equipment by setting up new equipment, servicing old equipment, training technicians on the use of equipment, calibrating equipment and making arrangements for broken equipment to be repaired.
• Have the ability to teach, train, and assign to others company policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all testing and work is completed in a timely manner.
• Relieve other lab technicians for vacations, etc.
