About The Position

The Leadership Development Manager is a full-time role focused on supporting girls and volunteers in delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). This position is integral to the Mission Delivery team, emphasizing the retention and engagement of K-5 girls through various programs and events. The manager will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to create impactful programming that fosters leadership skills and community involvement among young girls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of experience working in youth development
  • Ability to commit to the organizational goals of the Council
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with girls, staff, volunteers, and parents
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member
  • Experience managing a multi-project workload and meeting deadlines
  • Current Georgia driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to manage a budget with ongoing reporting and analysis of program participation, revenue, and expenses
  • Strong technology skills and ability to learn new technology quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Support and retain adult volunteers and girl members by developing and delivering focused programs in the GSLE.
  • Plan and execute program experiences and events that support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
  • Work with girls, parents, troop leaders, and program partners to develop and implement hands-on, cooperative learning-oriented, and girl-led programming experiences for K-5 girls.
  • Assist in achieving the Council's membership and retention goals for girls by coordinating and delivering in-person and virtual experiences.
  • Adapt in-person curriculum for effective online delivery when necessary.
  • Collaborate with camp and membership teams to meet programming needs for K-5th girls.
  • Work with the Fund Development team to develop proposals and manage grant funding for programs.
  • Ensure timely program and financial reporting for all grant-funded initiatives.
  • Support the Bronze process for 4th and 5th Girl Scouts pursuing the Highest Award.
  • Develop and execute transition strategies for girls moving from 5th to 6th grade to enhance retention.
  • Coordinate K-5 experiences at events like STEM Expo and GS Con with Girl Experience team leads.
  • Document programming work to demonstrate progress toward program objectives, including accurate record keeping.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative strategies for supporting troop leaders and program-grade levels.
  • Work with the Outcomes Manager to measure programming outcomes and ensure meaningful results for girls.
  • Develop resources and tools for volunteer troop leaders in collaboration with the Volunteer Development team.
  • Extend Girl Scouting to the community through presentations and relationship building with stakeholders.
  • Cultivate relationships with community leaders and organizations to develop program partnerships.
  • Optimize technology use to support customer service for volunteers and manage call center requests.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Girl Scout organization, promoting visibility and engagement.
