About the position

Chamberlain University is seeking superior instructors with high professional standards and excellent communication skills to provide practitioner-focused education. The role involves developing long-term relationships with students and sharing knowledge in various fields. Courses are conducted once or twice a week for eight weeks, blending face-to-face interaction with technology for an enhanced learning environment. The typical course of instruction may include NR562 - Leadership & Management Within Complex Healthcare Systems, focusing on advanced processes and skills needed to support safe, high-quality nursing care through leadership and management at the organizational and systems level.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire students to complete their programs by providing regular, meaningful feedback about their academic performance, development, and participation.
  • Engage students in meaningful asynchronous threaded discussions at least 4 days per week, moderating participation, evaluating responses and rationales, and responding to questions or comments.
  • Evaluate academic progress and comprehension of course content through assigning and grading quizzes, exams, and writing assignments.
  • Exhibit Chamberlain Care™ by displaying behaviors of care, respect, and professionalism, creating a culture that fosters collaboration, cooperation, and respect among all.

Requirements

  • MSN and DNP or PhD in nursing degree are required.
  • Active unencumbered compact nursing license (highly preferred).
  • Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses (priority given to candidates who are currently licensed in Illinois).
  • Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction.
  • Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform), and Internet.

Benefits

  • Expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
  • Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law.
