About The Position

The Leader, Corporate Security reports to the Director of Corporate Security, Global Operations. This role involves travel, both domestically and internationally, often on short notice, with up to 50% of the time spent traveling. Valid driver's license and passport required. First Aid and CPR certified (or willing to obtain). Global Corporate Security's mission is to protect Cisco's people, property, and assets. We operate as ONE TEAM continually improving the company's resiliency and proactive management of significant global, regional and local incidents. Our Operations Team strives to deliver risk-based, tailored, sustainable security solutions to the Cisco community, by creating repeatable frameworks that provide a consistent and appropriate reactive approach to handling physical operational security with a commitment to improvement. You'll be working in a high-tech fast-paced environment, focused on solving sophisticated problems creatively, efficiently, and with a high level of emotional intelligence. We are a diverse and multi-disciplined team; a collaborative global workforce of professionals committed to delivering on our common goals and objectives. This is a global role focused on protecting Cisco at events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; security certifications (e.g., CPP) a plus.
  • 7+ years in law enforcement, military, or corporate security.
  • 5+ years in high-tech industry preferred with proven experience in large scale event security.
  • Validated experience in leadership surrounding event planning, risk management, and relationship development; international experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable engaging with global audiences, attending meetings outside standard hours, and standing for extended periods during events.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and deliver end-to-end world-class event security, ensuring safety of all participants and assets.
  • Implement scalable security strategies, SOPs, and risk mitigation plans that align with business objectives.
  • Balance proactive measures with real-time incident management.
  • Lead, mentor, and collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and law enforcement.
  • Conduct risk assessments, manage incident response, and perform after-action reviews for continuous improvement.
  • Brief executive leadership and coordinate security communications across all organizational levels.
  • Monitor global risks, provide accurate threat assessments, address sophisticated security issues, and ensure compliance with workplace standards.
  • Leverage technology and standard methodologies to enhance event security operations and efficiency.
