Job duties include, but are not limited to: Employee Management Check roster to confirm that staffing requirements are met Manage team members’ performance Train new employees Assign employees to appropriate positions Reward employees for good performance Ensure that employees are following good manufacturing practices Assist those positions which need help in the production process Relieve employees for breaks and lunches Quality Management Ensure area meets sanitary specifications Maintain a safe working environment Relieve employees for breaks and lunches Ensure that packagers have adequate materials for packaging Confirm that packaging meet specifications Acquire proper equipment for equipment machine operation Prepare packaging and label machines for operation Responsible for food safety, food defense and food quality. Other duties as assigned. Understand how to trouble shoot and operate the conveyor belt Understand how to trouble shoot and operate the label machine Be able to read and enter staffing data Be familiar with the products to be produced and understand the processes necessary to complete production expectations. The production lead spends a majority of their 10-13 hour day interacting with their team to ensure quality products are packaged properly. The work day is spent in a factory which ranges in temperature from 70-100 degrees with up to 25 people under their supervision. Physical demands are substantial and the production lead is required to stand, walk, and participate in repetitive motion activities for the majority of the day. Stress is high due to the fast-paced nature of the position. The performance of a production lead is rated on the completion of orders with proper specifications. The production lead is rated by the production supervisor. Works with other departments, quality, production, warehouse Under the supervison of the Production Supervisor, leads their respective employees.
