About The Position

The Lead Youth Development Professional acts as an on-site staff leader responsible for opening the Club at the start of programming, monitoring entry and dismissal procedures, and providing diverse programming opportunities to members. Members range from 5-18. The Lead Youth Development Professional plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates programs/activities offered in program areas, such as education, technology, arts and crafts, physical education/sports, and health and wellness. The Lead Youth Development Professional supports the Youth Development Professional team at Topock school in maintaining a safe environment for all members and coordinating with Boys & Girls Clubs and school leadership as needed. Must be able to pass a drug test. Must be over 18 years of age at the time of hiring. Must be able to pass background check. This role is specifically for Topock School. Applicants must already be employed by Topock School and must be available to support Topock School's morning camp site.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an on-site staff leader responsible for opening the Club at the start of programming.
  • Monitoring member entry and dismissal procedures.
  • Coordination with BGCCR and Topock School leadership.
  • Effectively plan, lead, monitor, and evaluate various programs, services, and activities to ensure the health & safety of members, quality of programs, gender, and cultural diversity.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with members.
  • Supervise members in a program area, while assisting with and maintaining program goals and settings.
  • Provide appropriate guidance and direction through supportive relations with members.
  • Focus on maintaining a safe, positive atmosphere for all members.
  • Help ensure that the Club is clean, well-maintained, and attractive.
