About The Position

The Lead, Woodline is a working lead role that oversees our Core Value Stream segment which is focused on assembling various manufactured products from raw materials and works closely with the Production Leadership team ensure the Key Performance metrics and goals of the department are met. Additionally, all Production Leads are responsible for the safety of all employees and are expected to enforce all safety procedures and policies throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in a manufacturing facility/environment, prior experience in a leadership role within a production or manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coach, motivate, and build relationships with team members.
  • Strong knowledge of assembly processes, equipment, and quality control procedures, with the ability to learn and maintain procedures for multiple areas of manufacturing.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to use and train on various types of equipment; examples includes drill, staple guns, hand tools, etc.
  • Ability to assemble furniture with and without printed directions.
  • Ability and desire to grow in the position and accept more responsibility.
  • Ability to take initiative in providing new ideas to improve process efficiencies.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance, arriving on time and prepared for all shifts, meetings, and appointments.
  • Ability to work OT as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and completes daily production operations through personal interaction with production employees, floor response to immediate problems, and work guidance to employees.
  • Utilize hand-held devices for tracking, scanning, and inputting data into the MRP or WMS software systems.
  • Adheres to production schedule, meeting scheduled forecast, delivering efficiency/quality goals, and directing the line changes as required.
  • Interfaces directly with production scheduler, ensuring changes are completed to deliver production requirements.
  • Implements and maintains work instructions.
  • Ensures drawings and tooling specifications are maintained.
  • Performs post assembly audit to ensure satisfactory completion.
  • Receives and clarifies work orders and participates in the set-up of departmental stations and/or work processes to complete the required duties in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Monitors daily production, work completion, and/or personnel performance to ensure proper part/product/work order completion with respect to all quality and quantity standards.
  • Assists in possible work process changes required by availability of raw materials, order completion requirements, or other operations requirements.
  • Completes logs and other work diaries required to monitor quantity and type of items produced or processed.
  • Assists with the completion of other departmental paperwork as necessary.
  • Responds to procedural problems or technical questions of employees with respect to quality, part usage, or other requirements.
  • Trains employees in proper work methods for safe and efficient performance of job duties and recognition of items to be completed.
  • Achieving KPI's for operational area - examples include meeting units per day, units per man hour.
  • Other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor or Production Manager.
  • Consistent and on time attendance is an essential function of this position.
