ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Lead Wind Turbine Technician to support the safe, reliable operation of our wind energy facilities. In this hands-on leadership role, you will work alongside a team of skilled technicians to maintain wind turbines and site equipment, while supporting the Site Manager with planning, training, and day-to-day coordination. This position is ideal for an experienced Wind Technician ready to take the next step into leadership, with a strong focus on safety, technical excellence, and team development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college or technical degree preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Wind Farm Technician
  • Ability to work with low, medium, and high-voltage equipment (certification required)
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work overtime, rotating shifts, and respond to emergencies
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights up to 300 feet
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and confined spaces
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to reach the wind farm within 45 minutes in case of emergency
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training or support

  • Experience with J.D. Edwards and Maximo systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily work planning to ensure maintenance activities align with the site maintenance plan
  • Support and train Wind Turbine Technicians in assembly, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance
  • Lead and assist with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs on wind turbines and associated equipment
  • Train technicians on advanced preventative maintenance techniques (infrared, corona, ultrasonic surveys, etc.)
  • Conduct safety analyses and ensure compliance with electrical, mechanical, and site safety standards
  • Promote safe work practices, including proper use of PPE and energy control procedures
  • Perform and support root cause analysis for equipment failures
  • Monitor tools, consumables, and spare parts inventory
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Schedule and track preventative maintenance activities
  • Support ongoing training, certifications, and audits
  • Other duties as assigned
