Join a team that has the environment down to a science. Stantec is seeking a lead field ecologist with a specific focus on Florida. Qualified candidates will be expected to take the lead with field data collection (e.g., wetlands, habitats, wildlife, water quality), assessment, planning, regulatory consultation, environmental permitting, and restoration projects. This individual will also support our clients and Florida staff that includes accomplished biologists, ecologists, water resource specialists and engineers. This position includes the opportunity to assist on various projects within the power, oil and gas, land management and real estate, mining, and transportation sectors. Projects work will include activities throughout the state and the southeastern U.S. Our staff include specialists in wetland science, threatened and endangered species surveys, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), cultural resources, hydrogeology, engineering, habitat and ecosystem restoration, environmental remediation, and GIS. We help our clients identify constraints and respond to opportunities within the changing regulatory and corporate environment through active engagement with the public, stakeholder groups, and government regulators. Our team members are involved in a variety of projects that may include Waters of the U.S. (WOUS) delineations and permitting, endangered species habitat assessments and surveys, NEPA, siting and routing studies, stream assessments and sampling, habitat restoration, siting and zoning applications, and complex planning and permitting for a variety of industries including renewable energy, transportation, power, government, and development.
