About The Position

This role involves partnering across the enterprise to find solutions to support the business, impacting thousands of Target guests and team members worldwide through Distribution Center Operations, Quality Management, and overall Distribution Center Productivity. As a Lead Warehouse Worker, you will lead tasks such as assisting Operations Managers in coordinating work activities and process flow. You will contribute to instilling a safety culture, identifying training needs, and participating in root cause analysis using continuous improvement methodology. The role also involves assisting in conducting control plan and standard work audits, collaborating with Operations Managers to identify gaps. You will work with other team members, leaders, and departments to assess product flow and quality, making recommendations and adjustments to efficiently and safely move product to achieve goals. A key component of the job is assigning tasks to team members, providing specific work direction, and monitoring daily progress to improve performance and functional area goals. The position requires anticipating leaders' needs, proactively solving problems, upholding Target’s values, and demonstrating professionalism and leadership. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry merchandise weighing 47 lbs. frequently throughout a shift and up to 60lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to work within a process path for the duration of the shift
  • Ability to access all areas of the distribution center, including the mezzanine
  • Ability to read, use matching skills and comprehend department/product documentation
  • Basic math skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate computer systems with minimal direction after receiving training
  • Strong time-management skills; able to multitask, prioritize and manage requests when received from all departments
  • 1-3 years of leadership, warehousing or manufacturing experience
  • Ability to be trained on powered equipment safely
  • Ability to work independently, as well as on a team, providing work direction to team members
  • Strong interpersonal skills to relate with all members of the team
