About The Position
As a Lead Veterinary Technician at Springwood Veterinary Hospital, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional veterinary care while being part of a supportive and passionate team. You will collaborate closely with veterinarians and other veterinary technicians to ensure seamless patient care and outstanding client service. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during patient exams, procedures, and surgeries, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are prepared and ready for use. You will also administer medications, vaccinations, lab tests, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians, and monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during surgical and dental procedures. In addition to technical skills, we value a sense of humor and camaraderie among our team members. You will be expected to provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and recovering patients, which includes wound management, IV catheterization, and fluid therapy. You will operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, such as radiography and ultrasound machines, and communicate effectively with pet owners to explain treatment plans, provide updates on patient status, and address any questions or concerns. Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories is also a critical part of your role.
