About The Position

CARE Veterinary Center is looking for a Full-Time Lead Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. As the ER Lead, you'll provide high-quality nursing care while guiding and supporting your technician team. You’ll help drive shift efficiency, delegate responsibilities, mentor team members, and maintain a smooth workflow throughout emergency cases and procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of veterinary technician experience required (Emergency/Specialty preferred)
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication and mentoring skills
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Credentialed tech (CVT, LVT, RVT, LVMT) preferred and encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Deliver Exceptional Emergency Care
• Triage, stabilize, and monitor critical patients
• Assist in surgeries and procedures
• Administer medications, fluids, and blood transfusions
• Manage diagnostics including radiology, lab work, and patient records
• Lead the Team
• Direct and delegate responsibilities during shifts
• Ensure smooth workflow and efficiency across the ER floor
• Coordinate and lead team huddles to keep communication clear and care timely
• Coach and Mentor
• Train, guide, and assess veterinary assistants and technicians
• Create individualized development plans and support growth goals
• Collaborate with leadership to improve protocols and training programs
• Foster Positive Collaboration
• Act as a liaison between DVMs, techs, and hospital leadership
• Bring a solutions-focused mindset to challenges and coach in the moment
• Uphold hospital values and reinforce Thrive’s policies and procedures
• Complete other tasks as assigned
