The Lead UX/UI Designer for Audit.xd at Capital One is responsible for enhancing the digital and physical experiences of customers by leading a team in creating innovative design solutions. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to advocate for user needs, manage product strategies, and deliver world-class products that improve internal auditing processes. The position emphasizes a human-centered design approach and requires strong leadership in guiding design execution and fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity.

  • Guide team members in strategy, research, alignment, analysis, design critiques, and design execution tasks.
  • Collaborate with technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs, translating them into engaging design solutions.
  • Engage in portfolio prioritization to help set the strategy and product roadmap for the team.
  • Manage shifting priorities to provide clear direction on product prioritization and support early product definition.
  • Advocate for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research, and user testing.
  • Champion prioritization of design-centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysis.
  • Work with partners and teams across various geographies.
  • Navigate conflict resolution within the team and projects.
  • Participate in hiring by reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.
  • Support early product definition by facilitating discovery sessions to uncover customer pain points.
  • Drive end-to-end product design by working with researchers to understand customer needs and define opportunities.
  • Create process and user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and interaction models, resulting in prototypes.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops with stakeholders to align with business needs.
  • Design within existing and create new standards for the internal design system.
  • Present visual concepts to stakeholders and create high-fidelity design assets for development.
  • At least 6 years of experience with UX design.
  • Experience designing for cross-channel experiences.
  • Experience supporting complex, data-heavy experiences.
  • Experience working with a variety of business partners and delivering outcomes.
  • Familiarity with design and prototyping tools, such as Adobe Products, Sketch, and/or Figma.
  • Familiarity with contributing to an established design system.
