As a Lead UX Designer for Roundel in our Gu e st UX ( G UX) team , you are at the forefront of Target’s evolving digital and ad tech experience—shaping the AI-powered campaign workflows our partners and team members use to create, manage, and measure . From deepening relationships through personalized shopping experiences to evolving advertising and monetization, Guest UX plays a critical role in delivering value and driving business growth for our partners and with our guests . As a Lead UX Designer, you’ll help define experience strategy, drive complex initiatives forward, and ensure every solution delivers both for the guest and the business. You’ll collaborate deeply across product, engineering, and marketing partners, while mentoring other designers and advocating for best-in-class user-centered design.

  • Create UX patterns that clarify why campaigns perform, how ads are delivered, and which signals drive optimizations
  • Translate high-level product vision into detailed workflow models for advertisers, operators, and measurement users
  • Define UX north stars and experience blueprints for critical user journeys and surfaces, including campaign setup, optimization, and insights
  • Lead end-to-end UX for ad-tech features: campaign planning, forecasting, targeting, bidding, creative approvals, reportin g
  • Translate decisioning logic (such ML ranking, relevance models, budget optimization algorithms) into explainable UI surfaces
  • Represent complex mechanics (auction behavior, pacing, spend forecasts) through insights, notifications, and visualizations a marketer can understand
  • Leverage your influence to champion user-centric outcomes within and across product experiences
  • Partner with engineering to map dependencies (e.g., logging, ML-driven optimization surfaces, inventory systems). Proactively identify UX risks in campaign management or measurement areas and propose alternative design paths.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering growth in craft and critical thinking.
  • Investigate using both qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Set a high standard for design craft—ensuring accessibility, usability, clear information architecture, thoughtful interaction design, and polished visual execution
  • Promote and advance a culture of human-centered design across UX, product, and engineering
  • Build a network of relationships to enable your vision in service of enterprise experience s and tools and Target as a whole
  • 7 + years' experience as a product designer with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product design and ad tech expertise
  • You thrive at the intersection of design strategy, scaled solutions, and craft
  • Expert skills in UX and product design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process
  • Advanced proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
  • Advanced strategic problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to effectively use data and insights to set your direction and communicate your approach
  • Skilled at balancing near-term delivery with long-term vision
  • You are an expert in communicating how design connects to, serves, and improves business outcomes
  • Comfortable exploring and using emerging AI-powered tools to support the design process, with curiosity around its evolving role in UX practice
