About The Position

As a Utility Operator with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, you will be under the supervision of the Utility Supervisor, maintaining the housekeeping of the various areas of the plant. This role involves general plant cleanup, inspecting belts and equipment, assisting with kiln repair jobs, checking and servicing mobile equipment, assisting with loading clinker into railcars, cleaning buildup in rock hoppers and raw mills, feed-end kiln hoppers, and helping maintain water and drainage systems and plant landscaping. Requirements

• Works in all weather conditions
• May have exposure to dust, cement, clay, gypsum, sand, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc.
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in the English language
• Must be able to read & understand operations and maintenance manuals, drawings, and schematics
• Good organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and ground maintenance equipment

Responsibilities

• General plant cleanup
• Visually inspect belts and equipment
• Assist with kiln repair jobs
• Check and service mobile equipment
• Assist with loading clinker into railcars
• Clean buildup in rock hoppers and raw mills, feed-end kiln hoppers
• Help maintain water and drainage systems
• Help maintain plant landscaping
• Assists with kiln repairs when needed
• Other duties as assigned
