About The Position

As a Lead Mechanic at Dumas, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the fleet of heavy mining equipment that keeps our operations running safely and efficiently. You will work underground in a fast-paced setting, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime to support production goals while working safely and efficiently.

Requirements

Valid Red Seal/Journeyman License in a Mechanic trade along with 5+ years of heavy-duty mechanic experience, with proven leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices.

Nice To Haves

Basic Underground Common Core is an asset.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate underground mechanics to meet maintenance targets.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy mining equipment (jumbos, bolters, scoops, haul trucks).
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
Communicate with supervisors and planners to prioritize repairs and parts ordering.
Train and mentor mechanics to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
Ensure compliance with Dumas and site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
