About The Position

Under the direction of the department manager, oversees and coordinates day-to-day accountabilities for associates in assigned department(s) while ensuring policies, procedures, safety regulations and Behavioral Expectations are consistently followed. Provides support, training, guidance and acts as a resource to direct reports to maintain and enhance department processes. The Team Lead will act as a first line of contact for the staff when problems with equipment, patients, or other operational issues arise while keeping the department manager informed.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Breast (RDMS-BR) certification within 18 months - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist - Vascular Technology (RVT-VT) certification within 1 year - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics and Gynecology (RDMS-OB/GYN) certification within 6 months - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Abdomen (RDMS-AB) certification within 6 months - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • College Diploma in Sonography (Required)
  • Experience in a related healthcare field.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in direct and indirect patient care activities which can include exam performance, coordination and flow, incoming calls, scheduling appointments, order clarification, second look assist, etc.
  • Provides coaching and support to ensure high levels of patient engagement and shares patient engagement results with the team.
  • Recognizes customer relations issues which require action and proceeds accordingly in a calm, professional manner; demonstrating strong customer service, effective conflict resolution and service recovery skills.
  • Elevates issues up the chain of command as needed and coordinates staffing schedule to address staffing issues.
  • Provides instruction and assistance to students and fellow technologists within ultrasound, motivating staff and providing feedback to elicit high levels of engagement and productivity.
  • Participates in annual associate reviews by providing feedback regarding development and/or performance plans.
  • Responsible for department orientation and training of new associates, conducting ongoing assessment of orientation effectiveness.
  • Upholds department policies and serves as a role model by acting in a manner consistent with behaviors of excellence.
  • Monitors equipment and disinfection techniques to ensure safe practices; engages clinical engineering or biomed as needed.
  • Maintains and seeks to improve knowledge and understanding of ultrasound practices and equipment, performing all other job duties as assigned.
  • Processes images in accordance with standard procedures or techniques and encourages safe behaviors, tools, and reporting.
