About The Position

Alpha Omega is currently seeking a highly experienced Lead UI/UX Designer to join our team to support Corporate Coding Challenges and help support our federal customer(s). If you are a compelling storyteller and UI/UX professional who would like to make a difference in the way government services are delivered, we would like to provide you that opportunity.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in social sciences, computer science, or relevant field OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in UI/UX domain.
  • 3-5 years of Coding Challenge experience AND/OR at least 8 years of experience with UI, graphics design, or digital product design.
  • At least 4 years of experience in user, product, or market research.
  • Experience working in Agile teams using leading UI/UX products.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear, articulate rationale for UIX/UX choices and approach.
  • Experience with collaborative design tools such as InVision, Figma, Sketch or other design tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Federal experience is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Active or recent DHS experience.
  • Corporate Coding Challenge experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support Corporate Coding Challenges
  • Collaborate with federal customer teams to create intuitive and engaging customer experiences across multiple projects.
  • Lead and guide UX team to develop a unified theme for multiple websites and projects using USWDS as a foundation.
  • Lead and guide content design team to refactor and migrate content onto the new user experience and test for its effectiveness.
  • Understand 'Why' of customer needs through techniques such as interviews, prototype, benchmarking, surveys, and design workshops.
  • Develop Information Architecture for each project to improve customer engagement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to deliver iterative progress using agile methodology.
  • Advocate for the customer through human-centered research methods.
  • Define, adopt and establish standards and best practices.
  • Champion the prioritization of research & analysis as a basis for making design centered product enhancements.
  • Leading successful UI/UX teams through career mentoring and coaching UX research, agile planning and critical thinking.
  • Analyze, articulate and present findings, solutions and recommendations to federal stakeholders in clear and simple manner.
  • Empower UI/UX analysts and content designers to analyze user needs, develop reusable components, and implement repeatable strategies to accelerate product delivery.
  • Incorporate best practices for internationalization and collaborate with federal internationalization and localization teams to deliver consistent user experienced in multiple languages.
