About The Position

Lead Travel Basketball Coach Pen Argyl, PA | Part Time, Hourly; Seasonal | Availability for Two Weekday Practices, Two Regional Games, and One end of Season Tournament; Opportunity for Continued Part-Time Instructor Role past season | $16.00-$22.00  per hour Do you love connecting with people and sharing your passion with others?  We are looking for a basketball coach to join our team at the Y! We spend our days positively impacting the community around us through athletics. We help children reach their potential, enact age appropriate goals, and we change lives in our Y community.

Requirements

• 18+ years of age; Experience coaching basketball or leading youth sports programs
• Enjoyment from working with children and keeping positive relationships with their parents
• Knowledge of basketball rules, fundamentals, and skill progression
• Ability to work effectively with children of varying ages and skill levels
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to lead by example and promote teamwork and respect

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate basketball practices and games
• Teach fundamental basketball skills, rules, and strategies in a positive, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all participants with a focus on building confidence
• Ensure participant safety and follow all organizational policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding program expectations and progress
• Assist with program setup, equipment management, and facility care
• Model good sportsmanship and serve as a positive role mode
