We are seeking a Lead Transporter for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. The Lead Patient Transporter is responsible for overseeing the daily workflow and management of all the patient transporters along with the safe and expeditious transport of patients and supplies to and from locations throughout the hospital campus. This role requires operating and maintaining various types of patient transport devices and providing training and mentoring to transport staff.

Requirements

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS) Course Completion and Certification.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention within 3 months of hire.
  • 6 months of transporting experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides for appropriate privacy of the patient.
  • Immediately reports any information relayed by the patient and/or companion concerning abuse.
  • Train transport staff on proper use of PATRA patient transport software.
  • Use department-established key words of SAFETY, CONCERN, COMFORT and CARE during ALL patient interactions.
  • Train transport staff and monitor efficiency of workflow management.
  • Train transport staff on proper customer service skills and caring of patients during transporting of patients.
  • Train transport staff on proper use of, maintenance, charging and security of iPads used for the PATRA system.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement process and adhere to the RHC standards of behavior.
