About The Position

As a Lead Transporter with St. Davids South Austin Medical Center, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living, as well as transporting patients following safety processes. Under the supervision of the Director and House Supervisor, you will assist the nursing staff in providing transport and patient care in accordance with Transporter skills/training and the needs of the Department, and will perform or assist with more advanced procedures based on one or more achieved specialty certifications. You will ensure proper handling of patients with comfort and safety, escort patients to and from all departments and procedural areas needed, and communicate with unit nursing staff about transfers. You will also maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times, ensure equipment is functioning properly, and demonstrate appropriate customer service skills with all customers.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate / GED.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
