GHD North America is seeking a Lead — Transmission & Distribution (T&D) to establish a grid capability that enables Clean Power growth across interconnections and grid modernization programs. You will focus on substation and line design, power system planning and studies and interconnection services, while closely connecting with BESS, Wind and Hydro/PHES pursuits. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of duties and will see you involved in: Stand up a scalable T&D offering emphasizing owner's engineer, studies/FEED and detailed design for renewable interconnections and grid‑modernization; develop standardized design packages and workflows delivered via Global Collaboration Centres.

Requirements

• 12-15+ years in T&D (utility or consulting) including HV substation/line design and grid studies; experience integrating inverter‑based resources/BESS highly desirable.
• Proven framework and program management with utilities/transmission companies; strong client communication and mentoring track‑record.
• B.Eng. (electrical) with PE/P.Eng. (or eligibility); deep knowledge of North American interconnection standards and protection/controls; familiarity with construction/commissioning practices.
• Ability to coordinate distributed teams/Global Collaboration Centres; commitment to HSE, quality and rigorous design assurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead primary and secondary substation design; define specifications, scopes, calculations and reports; manage QA of design deliverables.
• Build distribution design capability for overhead and underground networks; deliver concept/detailed designs and cost estimates.
• Lead pursuit strategy with utilities, transmission developers and renewable IPPs; integrate with Clean Power leadership and Global Collaboration Centres to drive efficiency and scale.
• Develop and maintain standard libraries, QA checklists and study/design templates to improve productivity and consistency across North America.
