About The Position

The Lead Trailer Mechanic in Woodland, CA, will be responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of heavy-duty Trailers and diesel engines, including yard goats or Switchers, to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles. Additionally, they will supervise employees and garage operations. Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Pay: $34.00/hour - $40.00/hour DOE The benefits of belonging – what’s in it for you? Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience performing vehicle maintenance, or expertise in repairing heavy-duty Trailers.
  • At least 2 years of supervising 2 or more mechanics while working
  • Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
  • Knowledge of handheld scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
  • Ability to read schematics and be familiar with the process
  • Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the fleet manager in completing shift work
  • Able to supervise 2 or more other employees while working
  • Must update work orders, close work orders, and work with drivers
  • Must maintain, order, and update parts inventory
  • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
  • Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on the vehicle
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required
