About The Position

Lead Teacher for Tots Responsibilities: Works to ensure an environment where the infants and toddlers feel safe and that their needs and wants are responded to in a caring and consistent manner. Plans and implements activities that promote the physical and emotional development of the infants in Spanish. Responsible for the care, hygiene and developmental activities both indoors and outdoors for children. Communicates directly with parents regarding behavior and development. Maintains classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness. Duties will consist of: Executing a developmentally appropriate program in line with the goals and philosophy of The Pineapple School. Providing nurturing behavior to the infants by picking them up, holding and rocking them and playing with them on the floor throughout the day. Teaching and interacting with the babies in the Spanish language, exposing them to songs, finger plays, music, and dance in Spanish. Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans, ensuring needed materials and supplies are available in advance. Ensuring the classroom is safe, organized, and stimulating. Interacting with parents on a daily basis, regularly reporting positive observations of each baby and providing daily progress reports. Maintaining classroom records (including assessments), cleanliness, and orderliness. Observing and documenting the development of infants and designing individualized learning plans. Assisting with diaper changing and hygiene. Helping out in other areas of the center as needed. Attending staff meetings, training events and workshops during non-business hours and maintaining required level of training hours with required documentation.
