About The Position
Oversee the daily operations of an Early Head Start classroom and to provide the children, ages 18 months to 3 years, with an educational program that is conducive to optimal development.
Requirements
- Infant/Toddler CDA
- Skilled in building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Experience is a must
- Demonstrate an understanding of everyone’s experiences, every day
- Ensure the delivery of services that recognizes and respects that every moment matters
Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree Early Childhood Education
- Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards certificate
Responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable about developmentally appropriate practices and the Head Start Performance Standards
- Plan according to the individual needs of each child
- Complete education paperwork
- Conduct developmental assessments
- Document assessment data in the web-based data management system
- Conduct observations of children daily
- Encourage family engagement in the program
- Conduct home visits per the Performance Standards
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Provide Responsive Caregiving to all children
- Promote the school readiness of children and families in the program
