About The Position

Oversee the daily operations of an Early Head Start classroom and to provide the children, ages 18 months to 3 years, with an educational program that is conducive to optimal development.

Requirements

  • Infant/Toddler CDA
  • Skilled in building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Experience is a must
  • Demonstrate an understanding of everyone’s experiences, every day
  • Ensure the delivery of services that recognizes and respects that every moment matters

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree Early Childhood Education
  • Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards certificate

Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable about developmentally appropriate practices and the Head Start Performance Standards
  • Plan according to the individual needs of each child
  • Complete education paperwork
  • Conduct developmental assessments
  • Document assessment data in the web-based data management system
  • Conduct observations of children daily
  • Encourage family engagement in the program
  • Conduct home visits per the Performance Standards
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Provide Responsive Caregiving to all children
  • Promote the school readiness of children and families in the program
