About The Position

The Learning Experience – Upper West Side is seeking an experienced and caring Lead Toddler Teacher to guide a classroom of young learners during an important stage of early development. This role focuses on supporting language growth, social skills, early routines, and hands-on exploration in a structured and nurturing environment. Our toddler classrooms help children build confidence, independence, and curiosity through engaging daily experiences designed to support school readiness.

Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred, or CDA required
Candidates with a high school diploma and at least 5 years of relevant classroom experience considered
Ability to meet New York childcare licensing requirements
Prior experience leading a toddler classroom strongly preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Dependable, collaborative, and nurturing approach with young children

Responsibilities

Lead a toddler classroom using developmentally appropriate routines and activities
Create a safe, engaging environment that supports early communication and social development
Implement lesson plans aligned with the center’s early childhood education program
Support children through daily transitions including meals, diapering/toileting, and rest time
Maintain classroom organization and compliance with health and safety standards
Build strong relationships with families through daily communication
Partner with center leadership and teaching team members to support classroom success
Track developmental progress and support individualized learning needs
