About The Position
Axient's System Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking a Lead Threat Engineer to technically lead and oversee projects for US Navy and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs. This position is located in Columbia, MD, and involves significant responsibility in managing engineering projects that are critical to national defense. The Lead Threat Engineer will be tasked with developing a technical path forward for projects, ensuring that all engineering staff are aligned and that projects are executed accurately, on time, and within budget. This role requires a strong ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines, including trajectory, RF, CAD, Design, and software teams, to define tasking and develop consistent products. In addition to project management, the Lead Threat Engineer will provide oversight and direction for all products, documentation, and briefing materials. This includes leading internal and external milestone reviews and directly contributing to technical project development as necessary. The engineer will work closely with program management to ensure that requirements are mapped to the appropriate technical groups and that a Verification and Validation (V&V) plan is in place. The position also involves identifying new capability development areas to enhance support for customer needs and coordinating efforts with technical branches. The Lead Threat Engineer will ensure that SEG's engineering vision, standards, and philosophy are applied to all development efforts, contributing to the overall success of the projects undertaken by the team.
