What you’ll do: Reporting to the Manager of Telecommunications, this role is responsible for managing hospital-wide communication systems and supporting daily departmental operations. The incumbent answers and directs incoming, outgoing, operator, and emergency calls; provides computerized answering and paging services for physicians and hospital personnel; and monitors alarm systems, emergency codes, and fire panels to ensure timely response and patient safety. This position ensures appropriate staffing coverage in the absence of the department manager, handles and resolves complaints, maintains accurate on-call schedules, and coordinates communication with security and emergency response teams. The role requires proficiency in communication platforms such as Medicall, Everbridge, Epic, and related systems, as well as the ability to process emergency codes with urgency and accuracy. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service skills, maintains professionalism at all times, supports training of new team members, and adheres to established organizational standards of behavior. Shift flexibility is required. Shift: Monday through Sunday 10:00pm - 6:30am

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Two or more years of telecommunications/switchboard experience.
  • Proficient typing skill

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment highly desirable.
