About The Position

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Technology Business Systems Consultant to support the Database and Middleware Operations team. The Lead Technology Business Systems Consultant serves as a senior product and operational leader within Database and Middleware Operations, responsible for intake governance, prioritization, demand planning, and cross‑functional coordination across database platforms and partner organizations. This role ensures that work entering DMO is strategically aligned, properly sequenced, and executable within capacity constraints, enabling reliable delivery and operational stability at scale. In this role, you will: Lead the review, evaluation, and prioritization of database‑related intake requests, ensuring alignment with DMO strategy, platform roadmaps, and enterprise priorities Chair or facilitate cross‑team prioritization forums to assess demand, resolve conflicts, and sequence work based on value, risk, and capacity Establish and evolve intake standards, acceptance criteria, and governance practices to improve quality of requests and reduce rework Own and continuously improve demand and supply visibility for DMO by capturing actuals, forecasting effort, and identifying capacity constraints Partner with engineering and operations leaders to translate prioritized demand into executable plans Provide leadership‑level insights on trade‑offs, sequencing, and impacts to commitments when demand exceeds capacity Act as the primary liaison between DMO and partner organizations (e.g., engineering, SRE, platform, and enablement teams) for intake, prioritization, and delivery alignment Drive alignment across multiple database platforms and towers to ensure consistent operating practices and decision‑making Influence without authority by aligning stakeholders around shared priorities, constraints, and outcomes Identify opportunities to streamline intake, reduce duplicative work, and eliminate low‑value demand entering the organization Introduce data‑driven practices to improve transparency, predictability, and operational efficiency Support the evolution of DMO’s product and operating model as the organization scales

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Business Systems Data and Business Systems Designing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of experience leading intake governance, prioritization, or demand management processes within a technology or operations organization, including facilitation of cross team decision forums and sequencing work against capacity constraints

Nice To Haves

  • Proven ability to partner with engineering and operations leaders to translate prioritized demand into executable delivery plans while managing tradeoffs, risks, and stakeholder expectations
  • Experience supporting database or middleware platforms in an enterprise environment, with working knowledge of how operational risk, platform health, and delivery commitments intersect
  • Strong background in intake evaluation, backlog management, and prioritization across multiple technology towers or platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to lead recurring prioritization or governance forums, including synthesizing inputs, driving decisions, and communicating outcomes to senior stakeholders
  • Experience introducing data driven practices to improve transparency, predictability, and capacity planning for technology delivery organizations
  • Ability to influence without authority by aligning diverse stakeholders around shared priorities, constraints, and operational realities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting tradeoffs, sequencing decisions, and impacts to leadership audiences
