About The Position

About this Role Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Technology Business Services Consultant to drive technology due diligence in support of inorganic activities (mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures (M&A/D)) across the enterprise. This role is critical to accurately assessing a target company’s technology assets, organization, and IP (alongside legal) as well as understanding material transaction risks and issues, integration requirements, costs, and resourcing, identifying closing conditions, and advising on definitive agreements. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com In this role, you will: Assemble a Technology due diligence team / working group list (WGL) Support Corporate Development confidentiality protocols prior to Sign & Announce (e.g. the NDA process) Develop Technology’s request for information / Technology Due Diligence Questionnaire Lead Technology diligence end‑to‑end across the M&A lifecycle Perform due diligence through meetings with the target and analyzing information from the Virtual Data Room (VDR), the output of which would include an assessment of the target company’s assets, infrastructure, cybersecurity, organization, governance, and controls and how all compare to Wells Fargo In partnership with legal, validate intellectual property (IP) ownership, software licensing (including open source) Design Transition Services Agreement constructs and Day‑1/Day‑2 technical playbooks; estimate stranded costs and integration/separation critical path tied to business value and regulatory obligations. Produce a Technology Due Diligence report with quantified risks, cost/schedule scenarios, and inputs for closing conditions; maintain an Issue/Risk register and obtain Technology Leadership sign‑off per internal control policy. Create and maintain documentation (e.g., architecture diagrams, data flows, procedures) aligned with transaction requirements. Propose and implement efficiency enhancements for due diligence processes. Act as liaison between technology, business, and enterprise stakeholders (Corporate Development, Enterprise Transition Services, Business Teams, Finance, HR, Legal, Supply Chain) during transactions. Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring understanding of the Wells Fargo and target company technology stack, business priorities, and how to assess risk for the bank.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Information Technology in support of Business Services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+years combined Technology and M&A/Divestiture experience in regulated financial services, including direct leadership of cross‑functional due diligence workstreams and executive‑level readouts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading and performing due diligence on large-scale M&A integration / divestiture segregation projects, preferably in banking
  • Proven technology experience in financial services M&A/integration/separation
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency with AI tools such as Microsoft CoPilot and/or Google Notebook as well as familiarity with LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, and tool integration
  • Process engineering, continuous improvement experience (Six Sigma preferred)
  • Advanced degree in Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
