About The Position

Doggett Toyota Lift is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Technician to support the Shop Service Manager in overseeing daily shop operations. This role is responsible for coordinating workflow, leading technicians, ensuring quality repairs, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive shop environment.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of work experience as a forklift, heavy equipment, or industrial equipment technician.
• Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and technical bulletins.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work in a shop environment.
• Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds from floor to chest; reach and use the arms with a full range of motion; endure prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting while performing mechanical operations.
• Employees regularly work around moving mechanical parts.
• Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.
• Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.

Nice To Haves

• Prior lead/supervisory experience preferred.
• forklift certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Shop Service Manager with daily shop operations and scheduling.
• Support and mentor shop technicians to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
• Assign work orders and prioritize jobs to meet deadlines and customer commitments.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with company standards and safety requirements.
• Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety policies.
• Communicate effectively with management, technicians, and parts personnel.
• Assist the Shop Service Manager with the quoting process.
• Maintain the Lean Management job board with workflow.
