Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical/mass communications
  • Minimum 5 years technical writing experience in high-tech and/or semiconductor industry
  • Advanced experience in Adobe FrameMaker/Acrobat
  • In-depth understanding of online documentation presentation best practices
  • Self-starter, with strong written communication skills, ability to work independently or collaboratively with strong self-initiative and high degree of flexibility and excellent organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervise team of technical writers, provide day-to-day work direction, create yearly performance reviews, and maintain high level of performance within team
  • Collaborate and support other Tech Writers within Onto other business units
  • Interact with MFG/HW/SW Engineering, product SMEs and Marketing to plan, develop and create end-user documentation using established Onto templates developed in Adobe/Microsoft formats
  • Use Manufacturing Execution System to input product build procedures
  • Ensure published material follows established company documentation standards
  • Process document changes through the change control process
  • Act as a project manager and make sure established deadlines are met
  • Provide status reports and maintain work records to routinely inform others of project needs, status, risks and achievements
  • Ability to interpret standards, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc.
  • Prepare and conduct reviews of documents with subject matter experts, internal users and other project team members as required
