Role Summary The Lead Technology Product Owner will be responsible for products focused on KOL Management, events management and congresses management for the Medical Affairs function. Person in this role will serve as a technical leader for the development, enhancement, and governance of in-scope product(s), and in doing so, he/she will partner closely with Business Owners from the GCSO GMAF organization to ensure alignment and clarity in business cases and needs. The IT Lead will be responsible for leading and conducting business demand/process analysis and will contribute to shaping agile user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria. Individual in this role will work with business and technology product team to deliver objective based key results (OKRs) aligned to product vision and roadmap and tracking KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, preferably in Life Sciences.
  • Familiarity with Medical Affairs and / or Commercial Life Sciences business processes in the areas of KOL engagement, CRM or congress and events planning is a big plus
  • End-to-end product experience is a big plus, including understanding and demonstrated ability to implement and execute, manage and measure product performance through its lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of GxP compliance, SDLC processes and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence is a big plus.
  • Skilled in identifying project issues, leading resolution efforts, and ensuring clear understanding of roles and responsibilities within the team for seamless collaboration and project execution.
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively engage with individuals across various levels and functions within an organization.
  • Strong relationship and communication skills, excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and influence without formal authority as needed.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Management processes and documentation
  • Self-starter, skilled at navigating ambiguity, and a collaborative problem-solver who can decompose complex issues and define clear approaches.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Working Knowledge of the Commercial Life Sciences business and/or Medical Affairs function.
  • Knowledge of JNJ's HPT and JJT frameworks and governance models.
  • Prior experience managing global stakeholder relationships and delivering cross-regional solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build use cases; write/manage/clarify user stories, visualization, and process flows; translate user needs into stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Explain functional implementation; drive/improve user experience; communicate vision to developers and testers.
  • Stay 2-3 sprints ahead; ensure definition of done and definition of readiness for features.
  • Facilitate release planning, sprint planning, demos, and inspect-and-adapt workshops; write/review UAT scripts and participate in User Acceptance Testing.
  • Document confirmed business processes, support development team and coordinate with application support team for application related issues or incidents.
  • Apply business process improvement; maintain SDLC documentation including applicable system configuration related information.
  • Partner with product team to align backlog priorities with product vision, roadmap, and long-term product strategy; track metrics and build reports.
  • Manage dependencies within the product and or with other products; collaborate with the product team(s) on design, interdependence, and timelines.
  • Apply compliance, privacy, security, GxP (if applicable) requirements; ensure products/features meet relevant standards.
  • Use analytics for feature prioritization; drive continuous improvement through feedback loops and data-driven insights; stay up to date with trends and new technologies.
  • Support change management and training.
  • Manage 3rd party vendors to ensure quality, compliance, on-time delivery, and within-budget deliverables.
  • Contribute ideas that challenge thinking and lead project teams or workstreams to drive delivery and outcomes.
  • Comprehend the product and portfolio strategy / "big picture", act with sense of urgency and shape daily priorities to deliver on the roadmap and expected results.
