About The Position

The Lead Technician role in Plastic Surgery is a hands-on position that requires strong leadership and collaboration skills. The Lead Tech works under the supervision of the Surgical Manager and Resource Coordinator to coordinate and deliver patient care in the surgical suite. This role involves directing workflow, maintaining supply levels, and participating in strategic planning and operational processes for the unit. The Lead Tech also provides mentorship and acts as a liaison among the multi-disciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma - Preferred
• 1-2 Years as a Surgical Technologist - Required
• Professional Certification - Required
• Prior leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination and delivery of patient care in the surgical suite.
• Direct the workflow within the specialty to achieve optimum performance.
• Promote collaboration and act as a liaison between all members of the multi-disciplinary health care team.
• Participate in unit and system-wide committees.
• Provide patient care by performing surgical scrubbing tasks and assisting the RN with circulating duties.
• Maintain supply levels within the specialty and assist the Manager in the overall function of the service line.
• Participate in strategic planning and operational processes for the unit.
• Assist the manager in preparation and maintenance of the fiscal year operational and capital budget and monitor its cost-efficiency.
• Demonstrate competency in the use of computer and MSM systems.
• Provide courteous customer services to personnel utilizing the services of this department.
