Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and - Required
• One of the following: (a) Current Child Development Associate (CDA) from the Council for Professional Recognition, or (b) Early Childhood Certificate from an accredited college with 1-2 years teaching experience, or (c) Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field such as Human Development, or Family Studies or Child Care Administration, or (d) Successful completion of related Associates Degree qualifying coursework as evidenced by a written qualifying statement from the accredited college that coursework is completed - Required
• 1 to 2 years' as teacher or equivalent - Required
• Driver License - Required
• Fingerprint Clearance Card - State Current Arizona Dept. of Health Services Fingerprint Clearance Card Upon Hire - Required
• Current Child Care First Aid within 7 days of date of hire into position 7 Days - Required
• Food Service\Food Handlers Card - Food Handlers Card Current Food handlers card within 7 days of employment - Required
• Must satisfy all of the above requirements in addition to having at least 2 years Teacher or Lead Teacher experience at a licensed child card facility.
• For those Teacher Lead positions that will be required to drive HonorHealth vehicles, incumbent must have a clean driving record as defined by HonorHealth Network Driver Qualification Policy Q-359 (available upon request) and meet the following: 1) Must Be at least 21 years of age 2) Provide a current and valid Arizona driver's license 3) Have a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the Department of Motor Vehicles obtained and reviewed by Human Resources 4) Successfully complete the next available, quarterly conducted, in-house training HonorHealth Defensive Driving Course and provide a certificate of completion. - Required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field such as Human Development, or Family Studies or Child Care Administration - Preferred
• 2 years as lead teacher or equivalent - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements curriculum to meet the criteria of NAEYC.
• Coordinate with all staff to meet center goals to keep the environment safe, clean, healthy and organized per Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
• Help orient, guide and evaluate the Assistant, Teachers, Interns, or volunteers and act as a role model especially in the areas of health, safety and child guidance.
• May act as daily coordinator for the center on a rotating basis as assigned.
