About The Position

Intelligent Waves is seeking a Lead Task Order Project Manager, IT Solutions, to oversee all project activities supporting the delivery of IT solutions for the U.S. Air Force. This role manages the full project lifecycle from planning through execution and closeout, ensuring alignment with DoD directives and organizational objectives. The Lead Task Order Project Manager leads cross-functional teams to define requirements, allocate resources, manage risks, and maintain schedule and performance accountability. This position serves as the primary liaison to Government leadership, providing timely communication, reporting, and project oversight. The individual ensures all deliverables meet Quality Control Plan (QCP) standards and maintains accurate documentation while driving continuous process improvement across the IT Solutions section. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Information Technology, or a related field, or a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in IT project management.
  • DoD 8140-approved and registered IAT Level II baseline certification required; Security+ CE certification preferred.
  • Proven experience serving as a Project Manager overseeing IT solutions or services within a government contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks, including PMBOK and Agile; PMI-ACP certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure components, software lifecycle management, and applicable DoD IT policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative environment that drives high performance and mission success.
  • Manage competing priorities and multiple concurrent projects through strong organizational discipline and effective time management.
  • Deliver clear, concise communication and reporting to stakeholders, team members, and Government leadership to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Utilize project management tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira) to plan, track, and execute initiatives efficiently.
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving expertise to identify project risks and issues, recommend solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with internal teams, Government personnel, and external partners to support program objectives.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with cybersecurity principles, compliance requirements, and risk management frameworks within IT environments.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Value Stream Management (VSM) and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to enhance operational effectiveness.
