About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a lead Systems Operations Mainframe Engineer who will be responsible for supporting the various Mainframe Payment Applications within GPLT. In this role, you will lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams. You will work as a key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and analyzing complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems. You will make decisions on technical changes and enhancements, consult with the engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives, and collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of software design and development experience in leading/managing mainframe applications in a high-volume production environment

Nice To Haves

  • z/OS, CICS, COBOL, IMSDB, DB2, NDM, MQ, JCL, REXX, Endevor, BMC Mainview experience preferred
  • Experience with one or more Observability/Monitoring tools: Mainview, Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk, and Dynatrace
  • ServiceNow experience
  • Incident Management experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Experience supporting and working with offshore teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies, including static/dynamic testing
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a geographically distributed team (including onshore and offshore)
