Requirements

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited engineering school
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Satisfactory completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
  • Professional Engineer Registration

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical expert and manager for assigned system(s), maintaining broad knowledge of environmental, safety, integration, monitoring, and metering requirements.
  • Maintain state-of-the-art technical expertise, ensuring systems meet evolving standards and mission needs.
  • Keep NASA contract and technical monitors informed of major system conditions, risks, and key operational events.
  • Develop scopes of work, specifications, and procurement packages for outsourced consulting, operations, repairs, and technical services.
  • Provide expert guidance on Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Testing & Inspection (PT&I) programs to improve system reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend disposition of Government equipment due to failure, degradation, or obsolescence.
  • Collaborate closely with the RCM Engineer to support reliability-centered maintenance initiatives.
  • Deliver field engineering support to maintenance teams and Building Automation System (BAS) technicians.
  • Lead, mentor, and assign work to senior and junior system engineers, fostering technical growth and high-quality performance.
