The Lead Systems Administrator will manage a team of systems administrators who will support, administer, maintain, and sustain server platforms hosted in enterprise IT environments and serve as the escalation point for more issue and problem resolution. The Lead Systems Administrator will provide technical support for incident response, service degradations, outages, and other services related tasks and interruptions.

  • Install, protect, recover, and modernize the application hosting systems and capabilities (including servers, storage, databases, and other essential infrastructure) needed to provision enterprise IT applications to the world-wide user community.
  • Build, sustain, patch, back-up, and recover a fleet of physical servers, virtual hosts, and virtual machines running a mix of operating systems (Open Systems and Windows Systems) in multiple network environments.
  • Execute performance testing and optimization to meet performance specifications, monitor and report on system utilization rates, and service capacities.
  • Build and provision physical and virtual servers, using a mix of appliances, stand-alone, clustered, and/or high-availability designs; configure and sustain all necessary hardware and software configurations to meet design goals, support includes configuring server parameters, configuring network services, requesting, and applying IP addresses, troubleshooting, and service verification.
  • Build and sustain directory services, identity management systems, organizational units, and global policies in support of computer and user objects across all network enclaves.
  • Archive and decommission physical and virtual servers.
  • Install and sustain a mix of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and application virtualization technologies, which provide virtual desktops and applications to users worldwide.
  • Plan, execute, and document mission-application baseline specification changes, to include changes to high-availability, fault-tolerant system designs, cluster-aware applications, client-server applications, web-enabled applications, and other n-tier application architectures.
  • Support code deployments of mission applications.
  • Support and execute migrations of server-hosted applications to a mix of Public and Private Cloud environments; verify before and after services; and map, build, sustain, and validate interfaces between data systems.
  • Build, sustain, image, and script logical containers and other components needed to automate server and network administration across all supported networks.
  • For specific systems identified by the Government, the SA will provide verification of data owners, authorized submitters, and logon identifications (IDs), existing level of privileges, and system security configurations.
  • Install, secure, and update server environments while troubleshooting servers, web-application, and websites by identifying system requirements, building systems, installing updates, deploying applications, securing the systems from cyber security attacks, deploying application and website content updates, and configuring authentication and authorization to meet cyber security mandates.
  • Provide direction, support and day-to-day guidance to team members to ensure high quality results and consistent alignment with goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Seven or more years' experience in system administration with demonstrated experience with Ports, Protocols and Security Measures, scripting and automation tools, and security, storage, data protection and disaster recovery.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a 24.7 military or government IT environment
  • Security+ certification
  • MCSE, MCSA, or MCSD certification
  • Must be US citizen
  • Must possess active secret security clearance or higher
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check
  • General knowledge of systems software, hardware, and networking protocols.
  • General knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent.
  • General knowledge of implementing IT strategy, plans, and SOPs.
  • General knowledge of implementing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • General knowledge in Ports Protocols and Security Measures.
  • Ability to provide an outstanding customer service experience.
  • Ability to work within a team-oriented, collaborative environment, develop strong working relationships across organizations.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to support tasks and issues through to completion, strong follow-through and critical problem-solving skills.
