About The Position
The Lead System Ops Specialist is responsible for monitoring and managing the operation of Amtrak and State-Supported passenger trains on a 24/7 365 day a year basis. This position is the main point of contact with Host Railroads and other entities when an operational incident occurs that will affect our passengers and becomes the focal point of contact for Amtrak's Business Lines for coordinating the response to such incidents. During service disruptions, this position assumes a leadership role working in tandem with the Business Lines to develop alternate plans that best serve our passengers. In addition, this position serves as the focal point of communication disseminating information on a regular basis throughout the System. This position also prepares and broadcasts Amtrak's 'A' Report which is the daily report for the Company of Amtrak performance.
