About The Position

The Lead System Engineer plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the company's network systems. This position leads a skilled team of system engineers, ensuring project delivery, fostering collaboration, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, the Lead System Engineer contributes to strategic initiatives and drives sustainable improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or closely related.
• 7 years of experience in system engineering or network administration
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Experience leading a team of engineers in a technical capacity.
• Proficiency in network design, cloud infrastructure management, and automation.
• Expertise in PCI DSS and SOC compliance.
• Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM best practices.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments, Git, and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).

Responsibilities

• Managing a skilled team of system engineers, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely project delivery
• Providing mentorship, guidance, and conducting annual performance evaluations
• Participating in recruitment processes to build a high performing team
• Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, actively contributing to strategic initiatives and project planning
• Leading the planning, design, and configuration of network systems to meet stringent reliability and scalability requirements
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate network components
• Collaborating with the Security team to ensure compliance with PCI DSS and SOC standards for our company platforms
• Collaborating daily with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) professionals, software developers, product delivery teams, security experts, and customer support staff to enhance production operations
• Working closely with the customer support team to provide exceptional technical assistance
• Actively participating in reviews of architectural and system designs to drive sustainable improvements
• Overseeing resources in Azure and AWS clouds, optimizing infrastructure for scalability and cost-effectiveness
• Staying informed about industry trends and recommend improvements to enhance system performance
