About The Position

Day-in-the-life on a high‑precision Swiss floor Join Flextrades for a focused, 2‑month on‑site engagement in Missouri, where you’ll be the go‑to expert for programming and proving out new parts on Swiss‑type lathes. You’ll own the first‑article journey—from CAM to chip to sign‑off—and coach full‑time machinists and operators along the way in a tight‑tolerance, high‑mix/low‑volume environment. What you’ll tackle Write and validate CNC programs in Mastercam and Esprit for complex components used in Aerospace, DoD, DoE, and Medical applications. Perform complete setups and prove‑outs on Citizen and Star Swiss machines, dialing in cycle times and surface finishes. Select tooling, collaborate with Purchasing for orders, and fine‑tune parameters for optimal performance. Execute changeovers, follow inspection plans, document revisions when customer changes arrive, and handle light deburring. Transfer knowledge—mentor full‑time staff on best practices, inspection handoffs, and process control. The equipment you’ll lead Citizen Swiss Lathes Star Swiss Lathes (R07, C16, L16, A220, L12, L20s) Your toolkit CAM: Mastercam (required), Esprit (preferred) CAD: SolidWorks proficiency Core skills: CNC Tooling, CNC Programming, CNC Machine Setup & Changeover What you bring 4+ years programming and setting up Swiss‑type lathes, taking new parts from code to production handoff. Ability to read drawings and CAD models (often SolidWorks), apply GD&T, and work in both inch and metric. Experience in high‑mix, low‑volume work while holding very tight tolerances. Strength in tool/material selection (primarily stainless, plus mild steel and plastics) and clear communication for mentoring. Contract details & travel On‑site in Missouri for 2 months $48/hour with 50 hours/week guaranteed $45/day per diem (tax‑free), 7 days/week Private hotel accommodations (booked by Flextrades) Travel time compensation References and ITAR Documentation Required Must pass a background check and drug test If you’re energized by building bulletproof Swiss processes and upleveling teams, this project was made for you.

Requirements
